It has been five months since the Michigan Wolverines made history by winning the school’s first national championship in football since 1997. To cap Jim Harbaugh’s final season as coach in Ann Arbor, UM won the College Football Playoff national championship and finished 15-0.

For the 2024 season, Michigan sports betting customers can already look ahead for futures bets on the Wolverines. For instance, FanDuel set the Michigan over/under win total at 9.5 for the upcoming season (regular-season games only). Now, the Wolverines are looking to avoid a title hangover this fall against Fresno State, Texas and Arkansas State (all at home) during the non-conference slate. UM opens Big Ten play against conference newcomer USC on Sept. 21, also at home.

Michigan has another Big Ten game in the Big House against Minnesota (Sept. 28) to end a five-game homestand before the Wolverines finally go on the road for a test Oct. 5 at Big Ten newcomer Washington in a rematch of the CFP title game.

As always, the biggest question for fans and folks using the best Michigan sportsbook promos is: When and where is the Ohio State game? The traditional season finale is Nov. 30 at noon Eastern in Columbus.

Can Michigan Maintain Momentum In 2024?

FanDuel has five teams listed at 10.5 for a win total (regular season only): Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon and Texas. Michigan is one of 13 teams with a win total set at 9.5.

Since 2021, only two of the 20 teams that started the season with a win total of 9.5 went on to reach the CFP. One of them was the 2022 Wolverines squad that won the Big Ten title; the other was the Texas Longhorns last season.

Of those 20 teams, 11 cleared the 9.5-win total that was set as the over/under benchmark for each team in the preseason at FanDuel Michigan Sportsbook. Twelve of those 20 wound up in the final Associated Press top 25 poll.

Since 2000, UM has reached double-digit wins 10 times, doing so in 2002 (10-3), 2003 (10-3), 2006 (11-2), 2011 (11-2), 2015 (10-3), 2016 (10-3), 2018 (10-3), 2021 (12-2), 2022 (13-1) and 2023 (15-0).

This fall, the Wolverines will look to add an 11th double-digit win campaign in Year One of the Sherrone Moore era in Ann Arbor, as the former assistant under Harbaugh takes over the program. UM hits the field with a full head of steam on the heels of a national championship. Folks using Michigan sports betting apps will be awaiting eagerly for fall to begin.
