A year after winning the franchise’s first division title since 1991, excitement is at an all-time high in the Motor City, as the Detroit Lions look to bring the city’s first Super Bowl title home during the 2024 NFL season.
With a preseason win total over/under of 10.5 on Caesars Sportsbook Michigan, it looks like Dan Campbell’s bunch has a realistic shot at reaching new heights in the year ahead.
Given that unprecedented NFL excitement in the Great Lakes State, BetMichigan.com wanted to know what fans are the most hyped for this season. Using Google Trends, we found the search interest scores for all 32 teams over the past 30 days. We then ranked the teams based on the search interest scores for their team’s name, example “Detroit Lions.” The search was done on August 29, 2025.
Safe to say, Lions vs Rams Odds & Picks For Week 1 is of interest in the state and beyond.
Rank | Team | Search Interest Score |
1 | Miami Dolphins | 42 |
2 | Pittsburgh Steelers | 38 |
T3 | Buffalo Bills | 35 |
T3 | Detroit Lions | 35 |
5 | Minnesota Vikings | 34 |
6 | Kansas City Chiefs | 33 |
7 | Dallas Cowboys | 30 |
8 | Philadelphia Eagles | 28 |
9 | Green Bay Packers | 26 |
10 | Washington Commanders | 25 |
When it comes to online search interest scores, few NFL fanbases have the type of excitement that Lions fans have right now, as Detroit’s legion of supporters have the third highest total (35), alongside the Buffalo Bills.
Across the 32-team league, only the Miami Dolphins (42 search interest score) and Pittsburgh Steelers (38 search interest score) posted higher totals than Detroit’s score, while the Lions’ fanbase at large had a higher search interest total than other franchises like the Minnesota Vikings (34 search interest score), Kansas City Chiefs (33 search interest score) and Dallas Cowboys (30 search interest score), who finished in spots five through seven leaguewide.
Throw in the Philadelphia Eagles (28 search interest score), Green Bay Packers (26 search interest score) and Washington Commanders (25 search interests score) and you have the full top 10 when it comes to NFL fanbase excitement over the new league year.
Still, when it comes to hopes and expectations, few NFL teams have the burden and opportunity of the Detroit Lions, who have survived the perils of sustained mediocrity to emerge as one of the best teams in the 32-team league, with a full head of steam and a state’s worth of expectations on their collective shoulders in the year ahead.
