The Toughest Stretch of the Lions' 2023-24 Schedule

For the first time in some time, there's optimism across Michigan sports betting around the Detroit Lions. Not only are their chances great in the NFC North, but the Lions Super Bowl odds are also raising eyebrows. So BetMichigan.com is helping you gear up for the season.

How so?

We created a point system to determine the toughest three-game stretch of the Detroit Lions 2023-24 schedule for the upcoming NFL season. For points, we awarded 1 to 4 points for each grouping of 8 teams in final standings from 2022-23 season (Chiefs = 4 pts, Bears = 1 pt), 2 points for an away game, 2 points for a short week (going into a Thursday night game or coming off Monday Night Football), 1 point for a divisional opponent and 1 point for a primetime game.

Play Till The End...

There's good news and bad news from our findings for Lions fans. The team's toughest stretch will come right at the end of the season with their last three games (at the Vikings, at the Cowboys on "Saturday Night Football" and home against the Vikings in Week 18).

The good news? Only one of those teams (the Vikings) won their division last season, and the Lions did manage to best Kirk Cousins and company in Week 14 last year in Detroit.

The bad news? The Vikings and Cowboys were a combined 25-9 last season, and the Cowboys might get a fully healthy season out of often-injured QB Dak Prescott.

But fear not Lions faithful, because sportsbooks like Dan Campbell's squad this season coming off their 9-8 effort last year. In fact, over at BetMGM Michigan Sportsbook the Lions are favored to win the NFC North at +130, over the Bears and Vikings (both +325) and Packers (+400). This makes the Lions playoff chances the best in the division. Perhaps life without Aaron Rodgers in the division lines up perfectly with the Lions' rebuild under Campbell and Jared Goff.

But if we know anything about life as a Lions fan, they'll be unsatisfied until a playoff berth is secured, and it more than likely will come down to the last three games of the year.
